INDEPENDENT PRINTING & PACKAGING HAS AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR A SHIPPING & DELIVERY CLERK TO JOIN OUR SHIPPING TEAM!

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Delivery Agent is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of products directly to customers, ensuring a high level of service and customer satisfaction. In addition to delivery duties, this role will provide support to the Shipping Clerk as needed, assisting with shipping and logistics operations to maintain workflow efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Delivery and Shipping Preparation

• Organizes and sorts delivery jobs based on destination and delivery priority.
• Plans the most efficient delivery routes, taking into account customer locations and items loaded on the vehicle.
• Prepares products for shipment or delivery by shrink-wrapping and banding skids as necessary.
• Loads delivery vans in a secure and organized manner.
• Verifies delivery receipts and labels for accuracy and completeness.

Product Delivery

• Adheres to the established pickup and delivery schedule.
• Delivers products in accordance with Independent’s customer service standards and expectations.
• Provides delivery receipts and obtains customer signatures when required.

General and Miscellaneous Support

• Cleans and maintains shipping equipment, vehicles, and workstations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
• Reports any order discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or other issues to the supervisor.
• Replenishes stock of bindery supplies and ensures shelves are adequately maintained.
• Performs routine vehicle maintenance checks and communicates any service needs to the supervisor.
• Loads common carrier trucks using appropriate material handling equipment.
• Delivers exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients by answering inquiries and providing delivery/shipping information.
• Communicates delivery delays, order changes, or logistical issues to the appropriate departments.
• Inputs package information into the UPS system accurately.
• Prepares delivery slips and labels for machine finishing equipment.
• Identifies and selects cost-effective, timely shipping methods.
• Ensures all jobs are securely wrapped and banded prior to shipment.
• Makes necessary adjustments to shipments based on order modifications or changes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Appropriate licensing credentials – CDL
• Strong ability to communicate with people at all levels- this includes professional verbal communication that is free of vulgar language and other inappropriate use of words
• Solid understanding of appropriate dress guidelines when working with customers and the ability to represent IPC in a professional manner and exceed customer expectations.
• Knowledge of how to safely operate a forklift a plus but willing to train.

SCHEDULE:

Full-time, Hourly, Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm

STARTING WAGE:

This is an hourly position and beginning wage will be in line with experience.
